Having been with FKG since it's beta, I've seen all the various gachas that have come and gone, as well as the various gold exclusive deals as well. As time passed, a question kept popping up when I sometimes compare the various gachas.

Have Flower Gems become almost completely redundant (as in worthless)?

Now I know there have been a few good gachas that used Flower Gems, like that 10+1 for a gold ticket, but for the most part, the gold exclusives make the FG gachas look pretty worthless, in my opinion. An example in recent memory being when Lycoris came out in the priority gacha, followed by a gold exclusive deal for her soon after. It got to the point where it seems the hidden message being spoken is 'Don't bother spending gold for FGs'.

With that line of thought, I couldn't help but wonder if others thought the same thing or something similar. But all in all, I just felt like expressing my opinion.

P.S. Kinda wish that 5 Star only gacha for just 5 FGs came back, or even a 6 Star only gacha that had a high FG price.

Hmm...........no, they're definitely not redundant, but to begin with, they had a pretty low economic value. Or more like, the western release gets a pretty horrible deal when compared to the original DMM version; they pretty much fill their tubs with free gems, while we're post apocalyptic and scrounging for everything we can get.

Despite that, it's pretty much one of the main motivators to keep us free/cheap to plays in this game. That alone gives it some value.

Having only started a bit more than a month ago, if that matters, the only way I can see from your point of view is by assuming everyone is willing to pay a fair amount of real money for a single unit, which they're not.

I have no desire to spend money on this game, so yeah I kinda need FG's.

I'm still hoarding Flower Gems. It's not redundant. The game gives you a choice whether to spend or keep them or spend real money. You are not forced to. You can still get those units possibly with luck with just Flower Gems. That's the adrenaline I had. I'm almost 100 Flower Gems just for Xmas after blowing so much for Apple of Sodom on Halloween. I didn't get her, but I'm not salty. It was fun.

This. Nutaku version is very stingy with FGs and keep giving option to whale often(especially for Discord residents). Fortunately, it seems the rate of stumbling on FGs in Gathering has gone up from people posting pictures of it. While I don't have any pictures, I can attest of getting more FGs in recent times than when I first started(From phase 2 of Geranium till beginning of November, I only got one FG in that timespan while I got 3 FGs after that). Now, if only daily login gives us more than 2 FGs each round, then all will be good after that.

Aside from training girls, this is the reason why I keep playing FKG. Getting more fabulous girls.

I think the word you are looking for is obsolete.

The FGs have its place, but rather than converting gold to FG, it's better to hoard FGs in normal play, and then use it on gachas. Whales will never convert gold to FGs, anyway, since they're going to be hedging their bets that gold exclusives could never be made available to the general gacha pool too quickly for lucky players to be able to snag.

Bottom line, for Nutaku, the profitability lies in gold conversion. They actually lose some money on gold gachas, especially if the rates are bolstered high enough, or there's incentives (tickets). This is why they reduced the drop rate on FG gacha, in order to compensate. If you're not a whale or even a casual spender ($50/month), and unless it's a Black Friday like deal, you're stuck with FGs anyway, So this issue is moot.

I have paid for FGs right after i started the game but i won't do that ever again.

FGs are the only reason F2P have some fun with this game even if the rate of getting them is horrible slow. I only pay real Money for guaranteed 6* cause i can be sure to get what i wanted.

If we had the same Login Bonus like DMM the Nutaku Version would be the paradise for F2P and for Whales...

My advice is to hoard FGs for specific 5* in the future.

I don't think it's really worth it to buy flower gems, unless there's a gacha costing FGs with a girl you REALLY want, but generally, the gachas paid with Nutaku Gold are slightly better value for money than buying FGs to play one. (So I'm specifically excluding hoarding free FGs from the game to occasionally play here)

But the game supplies enough Flower Gems to get by: increase Girl capacity, increasing jewelry storage and even occasionally using FGs for stamina (only worth it if you have a high maximum stamina to start with) or pulling a couple of bronze girls from limited gacha.

The game is more generous with its in-game currency compared to Aigis and the likes. I mean we get compensation, daily logins, max affections, and tons of events. I can't even earn more SC in Aigis than Flower Gems i Flower Knight Girl.
