I buy two times 100 NG gacha rolls each time the gacha is reset, and also the really good deals like 300 NG for a 10+1 roll and the Easter 1500 NG for a 6 Star.
I figure I spend hours and hours playing the game, so for the cost of a couple of coffees, I am giving some money to Nutaku and FKG owner (DMM?) for the enjoyment they give me. Nutaku have staff they have to pay, servers they have to hire etc., so I'm with you paraphin - if people want to pay for some of the content, that is their choice, and in fact, their purchases probably make it possible for the rest of us to keep enjoying the game.

I pretty much subscribe to this line of thinking except I learned my lesson. About 8 years ago I whaled the crap out of this MMO I was playing for like 3 years straight and let's just say that I could have bought a decent used car for what I spent on it only to have the server up and close suddenly due to lack of interest by the developer (they were making a sequel to the game) and the publisher ( who lacked the skills and desire to continue the game) and as is typical, I had absolutely nothing to show for it.
So now I'm a reformed whale...more like a minnow...when it comes to games. Normally I would have been taken a crack at this and dropped $120 like a boss, but...no...just...no...I missed the 1500 NG 6* which I am kicking myself for doing so but I'm just not going to spend like that and will be patient and wait for it to come around again. I have 2 rainbows and a solid 5 star line up and that's good enough for me.
Also because RNG hates me, so there's that.
um...well I don't know about the used cars you buy seeing as $400K US would get me a killer Ferrari or Bugatti but I was thinking more like a Subaru or Camry clocking in at about $6K....lol
Edit: as an aside...the game was more like a world of warcraft type game, not subscription based but completely PVP based so the item mall was deep with leveling items and consumables and maybe only 4 vanity items. 144 levels in game which, if you played religiously 10 hours a day, without botting or cheating, it was designed to take well over a year and a half to hit cap level and fully max out everything. The shortcut chopped about 6 months off I guess and I was not a big spender by any means. I knew Guild leaders who dropped well over $15-20K on this game so...it's at a whole other level than these browser based games .

On the topic of the actual gacha, it's an increased 6 Star priority pull and I feel strangely about them at this point.
On the one hand, if ever I were to really start whaling, I think this is how I'd do it. I'm not a big gambler but this type of pull is basically a no-lose unless you pull no rainbows and those are all you wanted, where as I can still make great use out of any golds I'd pull.
On the other hand, while I'm fine with spending the same amount on entertainment as I do for the odd treat for myself (I'm a light smoker so my two or three packs a week can be easily viewed by most people as a waste of my money.) 120$ is pretty steep though, and I'm not ready to whale like that just yet.
I didn't pull the Winner's Gacha because 30$ felt like a lot to toss after buying into so many other rolls, but honestly it was a tempting offer, and again, a tempting offer to expand my collection and not a price I'd personally argue with, after seeing what Mindrunner drops down on a used car, but it's just too soon for me after the Easter sales we got. I might pull the next Rainbow Odds Up gacha that appears, but it depends what we get between now and then.
I don't think FKG's newbie package is amazing but I'm also not in the belief that it's not worth getting. 6$ Sakura is great for newbies who actually get it. I'm not into the whole belief that FKG is in need of a newbie package that would offer any more than that. Maybe one or two heavily discounted 10+1 rolls, to really plant that into new players, would be the only other thing we could expect. Maybe an extended portion of the tutorial that gives you 5 free FGs and forces you to spend them on Character Inventory slots, 25 free slots is something that would help players out without really giving anything away. I mean, honestly anything more would be pretty silly. Remember that this is a business. They do this for a living.
