I'm also not really interested in the blooms because I'm not a min/max type. I guess I'm a casual whale? Like, I'd gladly spend money on the tickets to get to pick and choose the girls on my teams. But spending real cash on 2% bonuses or extra equip slots seems like a waste to me. Maybe if the Ultimate events maps were a huge challenge I'd see the value, but I'm smoking through them with a 2-month old team. I'd also be more invested in blooms if there was a multiplayer competitive mode where you fought against other players, but I don't really mind having my team underperform a bit in battles against the AI.

A fair point, but a couple of things to consider:

1) We should be getting harder content in the (hopefully near) future that will definitely benefit from units who are more than 1/1. In the meantime...

2) whaleship power benefits from equipment that the girls are wearing. I realize that you may not be in a position to do whaleship yet, but it's something to keep in mind.
