Guys, you really should know better by now: every time we have a swan boat event, the window between getting the last race result rewards and spending them before maintenance varies from very narrow to non-existent.

Just ignore the last race, don't even bother betting on it; it'll save you some grief.

Yeah, I think you both missed my point. I'm all for extra gold, but think for a moment how this played out for the both of you: you spent stamina to farm resources to bet on a race that you couldn't collect the rewards for, let alone spend them to get that extra gold from the shop.

It was a waste of stamina, is what I'm getting at; you'd have done better running whaleship unless you'd already completely cleared that shop out. You'd have gotten even more gold by using the stamina to run Mori-Mori when it was available (80 stam event map is about 150g/stam, M-M is double that at 300g/stam). The only argument I can see is if farming LCs was the primary goal.

The thing is, this has happened every time with a swan race event; very few people, if anyone, have been able to collect and spend on the last race before the event goes away. Unless/until the devs fix this scenario, it's utterly pointless to even try and neither of you are newbies who might not know better.

That said, play how you want; I don't really have an interest in dictating otherwise, only in saving you some disappointment for the next swan race event.
