I got lucky with a roll and found a +10 Battle Princess Ring. At level 40 it has +1670 atk and no def.
This is arguably better for filler equipment on whaleship girls than event jewelry. An event ring has a total power just a little higher than 1670 but has stats distributed to defense. But the whaleship bonus due to weakness is only applied to attack. Excepting the girls that actually get used in your first (maybe second) squad that could use defense, favoring atk over defense seems to make sense.
Thanks was wondering. I forged mid level seeds to high level pulled 100. Did not get 10 ring or earring to try
+10 Bracelet lvl 30 is DEF 1078
+10 Necklace lvl 30 is DEF 834
I then forged all that are not +10 into bond crystals
We may get EX equip also. DMM wiki says is extremely rare pull from high level gatcha
Can confirm that Defence on Whale Ship is better than atk for highest rank missions. Getting enough atk is easy, living through whale boss damage to ship not so much. Remember as soon as you kill the 'chance' panel you get +40% atk now so atk items might give you more stats in the end but you already have enough without most of them.

My last response on this: my whale ship(s) have been able to farm the most difficult missions for some time - so this isn't said with no experience in gearing/creating a viable whale ship.
Given the choice between 1k def and 1k atk for my ship, I'd take the 1k atk. As you point out, atk gets a 40% modifier after the chance panel. If you have the correct slash/pierce/hit/magic/nuetral type ship, you get a 50% bonus to atk. So a choice between 1k in def versus a 1k in atk should be thought of as 1k def versus 1k * 1.5 *1.4 = 2.1k atk. I'd take 2.1k in atk stats over 1k in defense stat.
Having your whaleship survive the mission is done in two ways: a) surviving long enough and b) killing the ancient pest faster. Since bonuses apply to atk and not defense, in a 1 for 1 stat debate - take the stat that gives bonuses.
Defense is by far better. At low stats it might not seem that clear but the way defense works is your defense stat is subtracted from their attack after a damage multiplier is applied. The easiest way to see this is use a -70% team with a very high defense. Everyone will start only doing one damage to you. If you can boost your maximum number of hits from 15 to 50, that extra bit of attack you are getting really is not going to matter as you will do more damage in the long run just because you are able to survive forever.
EDIT: Also, the ship battles are the easy part of the missions, the deck battles are where the real damage to your units occurs, and as you lose units, your buff later may drop significantly. I
have 378,184 whale ship attack without buffs or helper. Thus for every unit I lose, that is a lose of 3.8k attack later on. And that is a lot of attack if you are losing an entire deck squad (5 units = 19k attack, much higher that what a few rings if going to give you)
