It depends. Have you reached the point where you're no longer worried about gold and always worried about character inventory space?

I am pretty much at the same spot only time I wouldn't do it is if you know that you have some evolution to do which absorb a good chunk of gold.
I just had 1 mil gold not long ago then i had 5 evolutions to do in which im back around 250k while still being reckless with gold.

To me, it is currently worth it to use 1* Manyus on leveling a high level girl, but only to get her to the point to evolve her, not to get her to max level after evolving. Mostly because I got a lot of gold last week, but very few manyus.

It was bad enough that I even experimented with leveling girls using a variety of dupes. Above roughly level 15, leveling a girl using dupe cards just isn't worth it. The one 4* dupe (Lilac) I had available seemed to give about (just an eyeball estimate, not exact) half the amount of experience of a 1* Manyu.

That is very true only if rushing to evolve once I have a girl up into the 50's i just use middle and high end manyus to level then once 60+ i save the highest ones just to get to 70.
