Bonus Stages are worth doing if they are EVENT Bonus stages 100%.

Normal Bonus stages are only worth doing if it's the Basic (12 stam) or Advanced (80 stam) versions, the Intermediate (50 stam) has always been a waste of time with cost vs possible drops.

Even then I find myself ignoring the 80 stam normal bonus stage quite often when i'm after event currency or something other than Manyu / Life Crystals.

I wouldn't say 100%.
For swan boat races, they're just unnecessary because we cheat our asses off thanks to hindsight/laziness of devs to not reroll the races.
For the gacha type event, they're debatable, as the bonus stages actually give less of the 0-stamina stage summoning materials. I think that you're better off farming the regular event stages for this type so you can summon more of the 0-stamina stages for whatever side thing you want (I like equipment upgrade mats), on top of the life crystals.
For card flipping, as much as the bonus stages crush the normal stages with regards to event currency, there's diminishing returns on the utility of said currency. Once you get all of the 'good' stuff (where 'good' is whatever you define as for yourself) thanks to wiki contributors, you're basically done outside of running event stages for the daily quests.

You do not even have to "cheat" on most events nowadays. They are designed to be stupidly easy because we have other more challenging things to do....

honestly, i'd always do the event bonus stages (mainly that 80 stam one) unless it's the swan race....

only time I would do the swan race bonus is if i'm grinding betting materials...

those 80 stam bonus stages always seem to have the best output if not outright getting something like manyu/gold (those are best done on dailies when open) or there's bonus stages costing more stam (whaleship bonus gives a TON of medals from the highest chapter and stam cost you can clear)
