Nutaku replied to my support ticket that the timer issue is a time-zone issue (I highly doubt that since the clock synchronizes with their server time on each refresh but whatever) and recommended to refresh the page every hour or so next time.
The best part is... they gave me the 1k rank card as a compensation for my used puddings. (For those who are not familiar with my case, I had around 45 minutes left on the timer when event ended and I was using puddings stashed for the dark hour to get into top 1000, I was around rank 1020 so I needed like 1-2 more minutes to get there).
I must say I didn't expect that...

I could desired the same when EG rewards got bugged at first two editions (close to 500K EP and the "totalling event pero" bug came many times).
