Not sure how you can even consider being optimistic when the concept of mobage itself goes against the "good old days" you're thinking of.

*Real* games wouldn't limit their gamers/customers with stamina and gacha systems. FKG succeeds because it puts work in its waifus and shows it values its players, even if the gacha rates are abysmal otherwise. Kancolle succeeds for similar waifu reasons. But the money-making motive is still there, just not blatantly at the forefront.

I don't play a lot of browser games, FKG and Kancolle are the only games I've spent more than a month playing, but isn't Kancolle quite a bit different from the average stamina based browser game like FKG?

I've played Kancolle for a much much longer time and the only thing I've ever spent money on is more character slots so I can complete my collection. And I can generally clear hard or medium for events. The difference I see is that you can get all the girls (except certain event girls, which even then tend to become available easily through a later date) through some form of construction or map farming, which isn't limited by the number of "gems" you have or whatever. Also it's so much easier to play Kancolle for like 10 hours because you can just rotate out tired girls and work on different things because there's no commander stamina.

Not gonna get into the argument about pricing between nutaku and dmm, since I'm not experienced enough for that mess.

If I'm not mistaken, Kancolle's money-maker is probably from marrying multiple shipwaifus (and the whole multiple construction thing?). Since you only get one free wedding ring and all.

But the point is, both games are freemium-friendly and are successful because of it, just that they go about it in different ways.

Almost all games are pay-to-waifu though. Just Kancolle is more of a pay-to-multiple-waifu.

Oh yes, you're right about that. I forgot, since I have no intention of marrying multiple just for the stat buffs. Concerning construction and repairs, you have two slots available for both (which is perfectly manageable), but you can pay for two additional slots.

And yes, I see what you're saying about freemium games. I have no problems with either game right now.

Yeah it's hard to stay optimistic in the Modern Gaming World. I am not speaking about Nutaku but the whole Gaming Industry.
(There are still good games out there and some Developers still try to create an enjoyable experience for there Gamer Base.)

    i am concerned about:

DLCs: Many Games these days throws a ridiculous amount of DLCs at you. The Game Data already exists in the game but you have to pay money to get access to it. And most DLC Content isn't even worth the purchase cause the DLC length is abysmal short.

Releasing Games with Gamebreaking Bugs: Battlefield and the Gothic franchise are examples for this.

    Political Agenda in Video Games:
I don't want politics no matter which side in my Video Games. I already have that shit in TV, Newspaper etc.

Have to say, I'm more or less with Eab here in terms of the pricing. Considering 6*s typically come at $50 or $60, $30 for a pseudo-dupe (but one you pick!) is pretty reasonable. Furthermore, the deal is aimed at whales anyways (which is what most deals are aimed at, let's be real here, it's the P2Ps that let the game stay running) so expecting $10 RAINBOW dressblooms is just silly. "$90 to max out your waifu!" is technically an accurate way to describe it, but in all honesty, Rainbows are designed to be good to go with just one equip and level 1 skill, so it's for perfectionist/hardcore whale anyways, so instead of thinking of it like that, just think of it as $30 per pseudo-dupe of your pick and take however many you want (like I just bought one)

After you said this i realized we don't have a Hardcore Whale on the Forum?

Anyway for my Waifu i consider doing it as well (and after i have got all 6* i want) but not for all my 6*...I am not a Business Tycoon or something similar

I'm a whale by ordinary standards (probably spent $2-3k in total, at least 1k of that on FGs that basically got me nothing), but I don't hold a candle to the Discord whales who spend $300-600 a week.

You told me once you spend like 50-100 bucks a month right? That's okay but i don't understand those people spending 300+ bucks a week. They must be wealthy as hell or just crazy

There is this guy called water gawd on Discord. Total Power: 500000+

Sometimes i spend 100 bucks a month and sometimes nothing. I have a specific Waifu/Team Synergy plan and i'll stick to it until the end

I try to limit my spending to $200-300 a month for Nutaku overall, so yeah, that sounds about right. Obviously I spent a bit more these past few months on FKG in particular, between all the Black Friday deals and me trying to roll Pumpkin during Halloween.

watergawd in particular is a nutcase. Bear in mind this is his third account after his first two were apparently closed because of potential credit card fraud.
