I like to give Nameless flak/joke around about the terrible sales and prices but realistically if I was him and putting shit gachas out was what kept food on the table/paychecks going towards the dev team then yeah, I'd also probably be cheap like that, and every 4 days we'd have a new 70$ 20% Rainbow Single pull premium gacha and nothing else.

In all seriousness though, I never expected a compensation. This is a free to play game. If you expect anything here you're getting a little spoiled. The company isn't here to give us everything it's trying to sell us for free - and make no mistake, FKG wants to sell you something. If they didn't regularly make sales, they wouldn't be able to stay afloat. The game would hit the chopping block like Kampani Girls. Event girls are to entice you in, but Gacha girls having the best stats means you'll want to partake in the paid rolls.

That drip feed of FGs the game feeds you isn't a reward for your loyalty so you can play as a F2Player, it's to get you to know the feeling of rolling, be it the high of a rainbow pot or the salt of an 11 bronze pull. Those extreme feelings are the pressuring factor to get you to go and participate in sales/buy FGs, to re-experience those feelings again. EVERY SINGLE FUNCTION OF A F2P GAME IS A SKINNER BOX DESIGNED TO TEST YOUR MENTAL ENDURANCE AND BREAK YOU INTO BUYING A PRODUCT, and you should always keep that in mind and accept that fact if you're signing up for that type of experience. Games like this have to be designed to fight the player at every step if they want to make any type of profit. FKG is, however, relatively easy on the player mentally. Other than the Peer-Pressure factor (Giving new players high leveled helpers with several rainbows on their team) or the occasional gacha sale, the game doesn't ever really bother you about buying it's wares.

As for the gachas, one can't really argue they're overpriced. When you get to the point of exchanging your money for a digital item rather than material goods, the only person who can determine the actual value of the product they've purchased is the buyer. If you feel like a gacha is overpriced pre-purchase, don't buy it. If you feel like it was a bad buy post-purchase, Nameless didn't hold a gun to your head. You decided the purchase was worth it and thus have no one to blame if later on you regret it. We all regret something (God damnit Jenny you ruined my life.)

Im pretty sure some people compare Nutaku with DMM. Spend some time on the DMM version and you will see why they expect a better compensation and are disappointed with how Nutaku manages the game (...well, all games).
Also, would it have been bad for the company to give out 5FG instead of 3? Nope, it wouldn't because this is RNG with a reeeally low chance of getting something good, it doesnt change anything for them, so they only managed to get the players angry.

Based on what I've seen the community gets bothered regardless of what happens. They could have given us all 5 FGs and there'd be someone saying "What, no free 5 Star ticket?!" If they gave us that someone would be complaining for a free 6 Star ticket. It just doesn't even seem worth rewarding people who are going to spit in their face regardless so why bother giving us something good?

And comparing DMM to Nutaku is silly. Their community is not our community/their game is not our game. Yeah I understand people will make the argument that at their cores both versions of the game are the same, but that doesn't change the fact that Nutaku and DMM are not the same companies, don't have the same demographic audience, and don't have the same playerbase. I'm sure the DMM version of the game has MANY more whales than Nutaku's, just based on some youtube videos I've seen of Japanese game players going crazy on whale sprees. Those dedicated players make the difference in being able to afford constant gifts and giveaways like that.
(And I never see anyone talking shit about DMM, so maybe the fact their community genuinely seems to respect them is the reason why they reward their community so much. Respect is a two-way street.)

Just my two cents. I adore the community here but the salt over compensations always bothers me.

It's not actually a complain about the compentation itself, more about the compensations being rarer and smaller while on DMM counterpart it seems to be FG and compentation rain every time.
Just to compare, during the calla event we had a 5 FG compentation for a bug and another 10 FG compentation for something about stamina.
For delayed New Year event we had a fully refilled 2nd part event shop for one day to spend the event currency leftovers. Wealso had various compentation for unexpeted long maintenance.

Now, no more compensation for maintenance, even if it last for hours and hours. And only 3 FG for an event with almost 2 days late.

Maybe I can't understand because I've played games with worse support/that never handed out compensations (I've seriously never heard of a game handing out compensations for regular ol' maintenance taking a bit longer than expected, or even if a new event got delayed.)/were much more hostile in their marketing attempts.

To me, this seems a lot like children and parents TBH, with Nutaku being a broke dad and DMM being the mom that got everything in the divorce. The kids spend a week at dads, get used to no name Spaghetti-Os, go to mom's and eat steak four nights that week, and then go back to dad's and expect him to serve them steak like mom. After three weeks he gets fed up and stops even trying because even if he does give them what they want they just complain about the quality/throw half of it out, so he just goes back to feeding them Spaghetti-O's and says "Blame me."

I mean, why bother reinforcing that negative behaviour?

    Guys srsly.
    Enough with the complaints.

If you dont like the Nutaku price model, you are more then welcome to come to the DMM version, like I and bunch of other vets did. Its much more enjoyable and you get so much free stuff, that you can do a 50 gem roll twice each month if you really wanted to.
It certainly helps ofset the cheapskate nature of Nutaku by a lot, thus allowing me to enjoy this version as well.
If any of you are interested just go take a readthrough the DMM thread on the forums to get the idea of everything the JP version offers to its players in contrast.
I play both, and I enjoy both. Its not like you have to choose one over the other.
*For example few days ago they added an option to get a free 6*. It takes A LOT of grinding, but -> its a FREE 6* that ANYONE can get if enough time is invested.
Plus yesterday started yet another log in promotion that gives bunch of different crap from FG, to high lvl manyus, ampys, gifts, etc.
So if you feel the shortage of love in Nutaku FKG, DMM has you covered.
