It has been changed to 1500 pero for quite some time. It used to be 1500/1000 earlier, but not any more.

If possible you should try to wait till gambit to buy ngachas since you get pink keys as a bonus.

Yup. Worth it to have 1000+ pink keys. Not like you can spend all that pero anyway. Most of us have 1.5 bajillion pero.
