Does seem like a decent idea though, as long as people actually update themselves so you won't have someone with a "free" slot open all the time. Might be easier to just keep the thread and have people shout here when they have another free slot.

While not exactly what a wiki is for, it's actually not a bad idea.
It would mean, however, that everyone would be responsible of updating their own info. By that I mean not only adding their free-slot-available status when they have one, but also removing it when they are all filled.

Also, keeping the data ordered by date of last check-in would remove the need of cleaning the inactive players.

Something like a table with (ID, Name, Lvl, SED, Timezone, Free Slots, Last Update Date). Then, whenever you want to update your stats, you just go there and update your data. With a widget or two for ordering that table by any field, you could see everything ordered by update date.

Well, LoV's wiki actually has a player list, updated by the players themselves via Google Sheets. It contains usernames, levels and other stuff, so it may be a good idea to give it a try.
