As for people not reading instructions on how to get someone, thats on them. I'm PRETTY SURE the date on that girl in the Exchange Center WASN'T Monday's date. If it was Monday's Date, I would've went "oh crap, today is the day!!" Regardless of the consensus around here, I'm not dumb.

Everything in the exchange shop goes to the gift box. Why would this be any different?

Even then, things taken out of the gift box can go over your limit. The limit only prevents you from running any missions or rolling gacha.
