There are 64 possibilities with 2 units and either unit hitting the 8th path is a winner (8 being the number I assigned to success) so:
1;8 2;8 3;8 4;8 5;8 6;8 7;8 8;8 8;1 8;2 8;3 8;4 8;5 8;6 8;7 that's 15 wins for 15/64 = 23.4% (roughly) which is basically the 12.5% chance times the max number of units you can send I don't know where you're getting that you only get the 12.5% plus an additional half chance for another unit.
